Questions

The box

What is in the box?

Every cookie the house makes, one of each, sealed and arranged in the order they should be eaten. The card inside tells you the order. Each cookie is described on the box page.

Can I choose which cookies I get?

Not yet. The box is the whole range, one of each, and the sequence is part of the point. If there is a cookie you cannot eat, write to us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether the box is for you.

Can I buy one flavour on its own?

Not at the moment. The box is the product. We may add to it, and we will say so when we do.

Is it enough for two people?

Each cookie is for one person. The box is one of each. Whether that is enough for two depends entirely on the two.

Can I add a message?

Yes. There is a field at checkout. It goes on a card inside the box. Keep it to what fits on a card.

Can I send a box to someone else?

Yes. Put their address at checkout and yours on the card — or leave the card blank and let them wonder.

Delivery and when things go wrong

Where do you deliver?

Across South Africa. Not beyond it, for now.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery options and timing for your address are shown at checkout, before you pay.

How is the box sent?

The cookies are sealed and the box is packed for travel. It arrives as it left the kitchen.

My box arrived damaged.

We are sorry. Write to us with your order number and a photograph of what arrived, and we will send another box. You do not need to send the damaged one back, and you do not need to argue the case. A damaged box is our problem, not yours, and we would rather fix it than discuss it.

My box is late.

Write to us with your order number. We will find out where it is and tell you. If it is not going to arrive, we will send another. If it arrives late and the cookies are fine — they keep for a month — enjoy them. If they are not fine, see the question above.

A cookie arrived broken.

A broken cookie is still a cookie, and the inside is the best part, but it is not what you paid for. Write to us and tell us which one. We will make it right.

The chocolate seal has gone pale or streaky.

Chocolate does that when it gets warm and then cool again — the surface goes dull or marbled. It is safe to eat and tastes the same, but it is not how it should look. If your box arrived that way, write to us with a photograph and we will replace it.

Can I return the box?

If something is wrong with it, yes — write to us and we will replace it. If you have changed your mind, we understand, but the box is food and we cannot take it back.

I have an allergy.

Every cookie is made in the same kitchen, and the kitchen handles peanuts, cashews, dairy and wheat. Each cookie lists what it contains. If you have a serious allergy to any of those, the box is not safe for you, and we would rather say so plainly than sell you one. If you are unsure, write to us before you order and we will answer honestly.

Cookie care

How long do they keep?

A month, kept closed and somewhere cool. There is no rush. There is also no reason to wait.

Should I keep them in the fridge?

No. Room temperature, out of the sun, box closed. The fridge does the chocolate no favours.

Do I have to eat them in order?

No. But the order is there for a reason: the rich cookies flatten the delicate ones, and if you start at the wrong end you will never know what the first one tasted like. Try it once.

How do I eat one?

Whole. In a few bites. With nobody else in the room, ideally, though that is between you and them.

Are they for children?

They are cookies. Children will like them. Whether they deserve one is between you and them.
